Date: September 20, 2009. Today we did our 2 hour acclimitization hike and are currently resting back at camp. We went from 14,000 ft to 15,500 ft. We are not trying to get a few hours sleep and at midnight we are going to the summit to 19,400 ft which will no doubt be the most challenging part of our trip. (this message was relayed via sat phone to Alex at 10am EST).

- Our Goal: To be on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro on Tuesday September 22nd - We Made It! This album contains pictures from the few days before to the end of our climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. We left Vancouver on September 10th and planned to be on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro on September 22nd. For the first 3 days of our trip we flew to The Mount Kenya Safari Club for acclimatization (time & altitude- especially being sea level dwellers!). We then flew to the Mount Kilimanjaro airport for our Ascent of Kilimanjaro from September 15th until the 24th. Once finished our Ascent we will be on safari until the end of the first week in October then back to Vancouver.
