Shirley and Peter Bonner along with Deb & Jim Yeates plan to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340') via the Rongai Route starting in Naremoru, Tanzania between September 17th and September 23rd. This Blog hopefully will be updated daily (small computer via satellite phone) along our adventure. The Blog will also include our 3 day acclimatization trip near Mount Kenya and our safari after the ascent.
We would like to thank our well over 200 sponsors so far, and, also thank our friends and family for their ongoing support. To learn more about the Bonners and Yeates please see their Profile page. We also hope that this BLOG will help us reach our $100,000 fundraising objective.
Please read the following Background to Mount Kilimanjaro to get introduced to our adventure!
EXCELLENT site, you guys. I'm so excited for you and your team. Good luck and good trekking! And thank you!

Hey Shirl and Pete - looks like lots of blue sky and little wind on your mountain for the next few days - just not the 75' temperatures we're enjoying at Whistler today. Hope all is well and you're getting started with the acclimatization. Travel safe - we've booked some tee times for your return (power carts of course, you will have done your fair share of walking this year). All the best
