Our Goal: To be on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro on Tuesday September 22nd - We Made It! This album contains pictures from the few days before to the end of our climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. We left Vancouver on September 10th and planned to be on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro on September 22nd. For the first 3 days of our trip we flew to The Mount Kenya Safari Club for acclimatization (time & altitude- especially being sea level dwellers!). We then flew to the Mount Kilimanjaro airport for our Ascent of Kilimanjaro from September 15th until the 24th. Once finished our Ascent we will be on safari until the end of the first week in October then back to Vancouver.

Magnificent achievement for entire crew. In excitement and to honour your accomplishment we did a 3 hour hike to Chekamus Lake. I guess for you would be like walking in the park.

Hi Jim,
First of all: CONGRATULATIONS to you and your climbing mates! You've always been a climber. It's your nature. We need people like you in our world to inspire others. Being interested in men's mystical experiences, I would love to talk to you about your climb and the spiritual and/or mystical experience. Please let me know if we could arrange some kind of meeting to talk about that if you want to...

As you already know I'm sure, Paul Hartley passed away. I was very sad to hear this and I immediately thought of you, Barry Cullen, Brian Jensen and saw ourselves back when we were in high-school.
This is the note I wrote to all the others who were on Barry's e-mail list. Because your e-mail address was closed for obvious reasons, I'm sending it to you via this route...
« Dear Barry, and to all my classmates.
First of all, thanks Barry for the information. It's really unfortunate to
see one of ours leave this earth so soon.
I'll always remember Paul for his distinctive and beautiful smile. He could
light up a whole room with his smile. I also remember Paul as a solution
finder. He was never pushy. His presence was reassuring, wise.
Even if we didn't meet often (last time was at Jim's mother's funeral) I
will miss his presence. That's one thing about our group: even though we
don't see each other often, I feel a special closeness.
My sympathies go to all of us, but especially those who were closest to him
and in particular Micheline.
Take care!

Congratulations! What a lifetime accomplishment for all of you. Very inspiring. We love you and are so happy you're all home safe. You should organize a slide show with everyone...get a room at the yacht club or something so we can hear your stories and see the photos.
